  a few months before I started looking into the fandom, I heard a voice in my head saying "you are as loyal as the wolf"
  Also, I share many of the same traits as the wolf.
  
  There were other factors, but those were the main ones

  well, I just feel a connection with dolphins, its just one of those things.

  Stumbled upon a picture of a jerboa and thought, "I could work with this." I also have an undying (yet slightly scary) interest in aliens. Thus Slide was born.

  First I was just into anime, then I came across Wolf's Rain, and then I started drawing wolves... And somebody asked me if I was furry, had no idea what that meant >w< so I looked it up and the rest followed

  i just came up with mine on the spot. i'm partial to felines, i love malcolm x, i was listening to wait & bleed by slipknot (on the line "my eyes are red & gold, the hair is standing straight up, this is not the way i picture me), i'm a bit of a pyro, & my uncle always said that his ideal car would be jet black with blue flames & i always thought that was cool as hell.

  Long process. Looooooong. I wanted to be a husky or a wolf growing up. I was obsessed. For years. I took every opportunity to play larp type games with friends where I could be one or the other, but occasionally I chose a fox because they were smaller and craftier. I got into drawing felines when I first started drawing anthro art but eventually that came around to werewolves and the spirituality of lycanthrope. Around the same time I began regularly working with a fox character for a story involving a group of anthro canids (wolves and coyotes were involved as well as a winged fox) and I really developed her character and loved drawing her. When I first started thinking I might be furry I adopted her as my sona but it wasnt a good fit, she wasn't really me, but the fox was right on a near therian level - whenever I am desperate or in need foxes come to me, in dreams or in life and it helps on a soul level. I remember seeing a black phase fox in a field guide and feeling like that fit me better, so I added my hair (style, color is my current fav/what i identify with which is why when i draw her as my younger welf it is red not purple) and piercings and style and my fursona was born! It was like a soul search but she fits.

  mine comes from rather simple things, its my favorite animal, and my personality fits the wolf, and white wolf because i like being different, the name is super simple wolf's rain ^^ i think mine might have been to simple v,v srry

  I have only just joined the furry fandom. I chose a cat as I love them. (I own three ) I love to rp I also just love everything about them.

  I always loved dragons, reptiles in general really. It was only natural for dragons to be my fursona - I feel a connection to them.

  I was learning how to draw sonic charaters then later real animals, I then desided to make a OC which I un-concusly became my furry

  You could say it was a friends doing, but I somewhat had always been drawn to being around felines very often. I actually preferred the company of my cats then other people.... Only was it when I kinda learned from a friend what a furry was. I also happen to love anything magical.. so I came up with Lynx who happens to wield magic. I chose Lynx because you don't really see many of them.

  first i picked an animal i could identify with and showed similar personality traits as me....so i decided it must be some kind of cat....and this time i asked myself what type of cat i identify with or like most. i decided big cats b/c im a strong person and i want my fursona to represent that. then i asked myself what big cat is most like me...well i dont like shouting at ppl and i dont like ppl shouting at me so that alone says snow leopard....and thier endangered, i feel endangerd sometimes. and ive been known to sneak up on ppl for no reason and not be noticed for as much as two hours while being in thier line of site...snow leopards are called mountain ghosts by the locals near snow loepard territory....they live in some of the harshest environments on the planet, i definitely feel that way most of the time.......so yeah snow leopard...panthera uncia , or uncia uncia.

  The coyote is my totem/spirit animal, I've always felt a special connection with them so it's only natural that I fancy playing the part. ^__^

  Didnt want to be the boring ol' stereotypical 'bunny' or fox or wolf or cat and the Idea came to me while plqying skyrim... Kinda wish it would have durning mass effect or AvP/colonial marines

  I like dragons and decided to use one for my Fursona, but I didn't really like the same old details so I decided to give my dragon unusual features. (Missing eye ect.)

  I was a wolf first, but that was before I really became a furry. After giving it some thought I found I was most like a cat <:3 so there I am.

  My fursona was a wolf husky hybrid, being obsessed with Balto for a number of years xD But I never felt too attached to my fursona so I eventually went for a tiger instead.
  
  As a kid I had always been drawn to tigers without really realizing it. A lot of my early drawings and paintings were tigers. Then there was an ordeal when I was younger where I ripped off the tail from a huge tiger plushie I had and clothespinned it to the back of my pants. I wore that tail for weeks so from then on I knew I'd always be a tiger :3

  Ive loved wolves my whole life. When I found out about the fandom tada.
