  Seriously, we boast 6368 members and there's only a few forum topics and a post here or there. Other than that it seems kinda dead. You can't tell me that 5k+ members are lurkers and chat box people. The front page should be riddled with updates with that many members.

  Some people could have joined, gotten a feel for the site, and decided it wasn't for them. Or there are a surprising number of people who join and then forget about the site they joined. There's a lot of possible explanations for this sort of thing. Having multiple accounts would be another one.

  I'm guessing that some didn't want to go through the trouble of re-creating their profile again or quite possibly haven't gotten around to it yet

  Or that a lot of the accounts pulled over from Ning were spam accounts.

  Or that the type of users this new model targets aren't necessarily avid forum-goers (though I'm surprised by the lack of activity as well.)

  *raises paw* me here too, lurking on the iphone more then anything right now do to the crazy schedule at work. Will be more active after christmas is season is over. 12- 14 hrs a day 13 days on one off kinda takes a toll on ya after 4 mos

  It's funny, I was really surprised by the lack of activity even though I just joined. We need to pull more people in.

  The forums need more front-page visibility. Right now, not only are the forums practically invisible but The Wall is drawing away all our potential traffic. We effectively have negative front-page presence.

  I in SL 90 percent of the time I am on the computer and check these forums sometimes.

  Er, is it fascist to pick out members who haven't posted in say two months (posts are just text files on server, like newgroups, right?) Email em and give a month to reply before deleting acount? Sure it's fun to brag about >6000 members but only actives should count.
