Bravery and sexual preferance shouldn't be an issue, this is getting out of hand and borderline retarded as a straight man there should be no divide between who can serve and who can't if you want to be Gay,Bi,Straight,Shemale,Herm or Cross dresser who gives a flying fuck these people have more balls than I let them serve their country.
They want to be Brave let em i salute that and throw my fist in the air like i just don't care and that is why the goverment needs to lay off the phony moral card and get real.....this is about being a bunch of homophobes and a piss poor excuse for it.
Throwing away recruits on the whim of fear when we are both fighting a war that promotes it tsk tsk if i was Obama i would pull my head outta the sand before this opportunity fades along with this term.
that is all i have for now

Uh, I'm just a dumb todd, but is anyfur actively serving (army, navy, air force, marines, coast guard) to say if gays serve differently? I think I heard the 'bad for morale' argument against blacks and women, too.
I actually did apply to be in the Marines. In the three weeks I was "stationed" (Training lol), almost everyone in the unit knew I was gay and NOBODY cared. I don't think the morale arguement has any base in fact.

seeing a bunch of our military personel charging towards the enemy in pink camo and glow sticks tied to there guns yeiling "WE HERE TO KICK YOUR ASS AND WE LOOK FABULOUS!!!!!" would be awesome. LOL
That would be a wierdly funny and awesome sight :P
But seriously, I don't see how this should even be a discussion, ANY person wanting to be part of the military should have the right to do so, and anyone else saying otherwise should be ashamed. To even reject someone willing to fight and die for their country is just painful to see.
Sorry to barge in here but that is such horse@#$%. Soldiers don't "hesitate" because or their sexual orientation. They do because they're morally conflicted with killing. Any other reasoning beyond that is just mindless justification for someones lack of understanding. I'll leave my soapbox now.
I didn't mean to belittle who or what he was! But blaming everyone in sight for one persons shortcoming is ludicrus. Everyone else doesn't deserve the blame for one persons actions. I have a number of family members past and present in the military some didn't come home either.
