  we get to the hospital in 3.5 minutes. as we sit in the waiting room i play One by Metallica on my guitar. (seems fitting. also, a note: i love to be the despicable hero. the one who does the right things the wrong way.)

  i put away my guitar, visibly irritated. mostly because i didn't sleep the night before. i drink from my flask. "hmm?" i offer it to the two of them.
