  Do they work? Do you like them or not? Why? What's wrong, and what's going right? This is not a subject about issues, parties or political points of view...it's an analysis of the modern political machine. Do you think it is thriving, or leading us to our doom? Thanks for answering!

  I think the road to hell is paved with good intentions. I feel that there should be only one term for politicians, because after that, the temptation for greed and corruption sets in. I feel that there should be a "lotto" for those who want to serve in Congress. There are too many wealthy senators and representatives who are out of touch with the common everyday little man. We need to be represented by those who are not interested in playing power struggle games between the two parties. I think it has all boiled down to greed and power. There's good and bad in both parties. I'm just sick and tired of the finger pointing and the blame game. We also deserve honest politicians (that's an oxymoron!). Why do we have to hear what's really going on through Wikileaks?

  For me politics is a foggy topic ,since i sometimes wonder ,who ,or what is really governing us .That is why at the moment i am stuck at the position of a jungle explorer looking for the holly grail .

  I also feel that many politicians provide for their own self interests. There should be NO pork bellies and NO earmarks.

  I'd just like to add this friendly (opinionated?) reminder to my own discussion: in the end, our rulers, lawmakers and politicians are people. People are not infallible, therefore perfection isn't attainable. Continue as you will. ^.^

  its honestly all flaud humans arent perfect and anything we create wont be either what is good for most is never good for all and i feel ALOT of personal responsablity should be everyones burden stop leaving everything to the governments to fix for us rediculous laws made out of stupid lawsuits buuilding up over time isnt the way to run things course what do i know i am just a big goofy lion

  The problem with our politics today is the mass majority is made of the ignorant populas. Although we believe the educated are better at thinking than we are we go ahead and believe in any half crazed cause that makes us believe nothing is our fault. The fact is laws and regulations are our fault because we as a mass majority set the trend for politicians to follow, because we limited their power. From taxes, to illegal imigration, to gay marriage, and all in between. As long as those in media protray gays as pathetic individuals with their hormones unbalanced and lesbians as chicks wanting to have dicks, and pedophiles as criminals and not sick individuals we can't blame the negative side of what laws we are forced to follow. Now come on people it is time we either do two things one we say what we mean without fear of apprisal about any special interest groups from religion in the workplace to true beliefs of tobacco use and of course our thoughts on political issues we will conform to the main idea. The other choice since the former is in my opinion unlikely is to elect a dictaorship, because regardless of what the media run opinion is they are forced to follow a set command of one person.
  
  Only through the sacrafices of personal liberty's and choices can we achieve the goals we aim for in our modern culture. Wether society in the future deems us fools for doing so it is the only option convieable today. Or we can quit whinning about how unfair and unjust the system is and just do something about it, for crying out loud what the hell do you expect to get done if all you do is talk and not show people what you mean by your views. Say what you want of the 9/11 tragedy but I believe it is an extreme example how one can express ones political views.

  I think it's more two huge factors in govermant corruption. Ignorant people who whine against every choice the government makes but when they have to vote or decide on something they will go right back to the polititan who made them enraged. Good intenitions and Crappy Ideas is the other factor. I may have to take an HIV test just because my god damn health minister wants to get rid of the bad reputation of getting an HIV test (Im candien so this only applies to the people from the "great white north"). Then you have the educated people (very small group) that are very concerened about their government and may even send formal letters with suggestions to resolve matters but these are drowned out by the tonnes of hate mail sent by whiny ignorants.

  That is assuming those who run the government aren't intelligent or aren't doing their best running the country. Afterall the main prinicple of politicians is to work for the people, if there is any justice in that ideal shoudn't we be the rich ones and their the poor sacrafices. It is a glorified mess, we sadly have to for true justice is to weed out corruption no matter how much other roots go with it or just burn it all down in the rite of anarchy, but in my opinion one Dictatorship under all is the true rite for a free and glorious future free of corruption. All under Lord Satan or a representive of his glory, hail Satan!

  Hmmm I dont like the idea of a dictaorship the Us would end up like the Roman empire wich we would be glourious and just until corruption settled within the dictaor's mind. I guesss I would be ok with a dictaorship if he had representatives from each of the provinces came and could veto an unjust law that is about to be made because just rulers last until they die,from assasination or a hit and run probably. Also to Tau free health care is good but I am not going to be milked of my *ahem* body fluids so they can tell me nothing is wrong with me. If the health ministry really cared to get rid of the reputation on AIDS virus they could just put up more propaganda in easy acsess areas itwould work effectivley on the average populace (the smarter part of the populace may not fall for just propaganda reasoning but they probably dont beleive the sterotypes)

  We aren't talking about AID's or sex here we are talking about politics the core centre of this issue is leadership. We have too many leaders with their own agenda, I say we start making one rule of his own, and if you remember rightly "one road to Rome" the creation of a utopian empire. However those who querstion their leaders judgements created that Empires demise.
  
  Now a Adolf Hittler was loved by most of his people, he even though committed genocide of a particular group did maintain a appropiate attitude we need for our political ideal. "One voice, one mind, one people" we can't have that if we are second guessed by double standards we put in place. If Nazi Germany fully developed then yes we could of seen a marvelous productiive empire, instead of its shattered remanets being used to build weapons to fight wars we could end with a nuke or two.

  Uh, I'm backing away too. Fascism and Communism assume strong leaders know what's best, but "absolute power corrupts absolutely." Being liked (Adolf led a political party that was elected democratically) doesn't assure good gov't either.

  I probably sounded really communist and I would like to say that I wasnt explaining myself properly. What I would like from the government would be...
  1) A stronger leader in North America and other western cultures. I would like someone who actually has a back bone and is willing to stand by a good descision and willing to hear and analyze all sides to a story (political side,citizenry side,economical side)
  2) Smaller governments. The government employs millions of people yearly. Our style of democratic government is made to run a growing empire not to sustain a small country. We could have councilers who brainstorm multiple ideas and pitch them to the people so the people have power but it has some restarint and order.
  3)Power to the younger generations. I dont mean letting 16 yeatolds vote. (dislike the idea and I am around that age, we'll end up with the person who has the flashiest posters in charge) Maybe per province or state we could have 2-5 youths (ages 10-17) aid and suggest things to the federal official in the area.
  These are some Ideas I would like to see happen in the governent. Dislike a communist government system(get things done quickly but to little power to poeple) but I also dislike a democratic system (most power to the poeple but things NEVER get done around here) we need to find and alternative balance of both in my opinion

  Yeah those are pretty communist and kinda short sighted. It's a proven fact that a Dictatorship is the most efficient and less corrupt government there is, the more voices involved the more corrupt it is going to be, we are too weak to afford not to listen to an upmost force of authority.

  Im totally onboard for a dictatorship if you find a good leader but what about if the leader gets assaniated by someone who isnt such a good dictator like maybe someone who is selfish and greedy. A dicators are good to a fault. Civil wars erupt way to quickly through a dicatorship.
