a secret nuclear reactor used by the army melts down. when the nuclear disaster occurred, many humans died of radiation poisoning & cancer. however, some animals came into contact with a strange mutagen. it combined the dna of the animals with the dna of the last ones to touch it, resulting in animals with human characteristics (herein referred to as anthros). many anthros wanted revenge against the humans. many more felt that the mutation was a gift. they felt that because of it, they could put an end to tampering with nature.
